in praise of ducks

Mrs. 10e gave me LLBean duck shoes for Father's Day last year. Think I've worn them every second day since due to; the mild winter (thick socks) or wet spring (Happy Socks) or even gardening in the summer (no socks). Fan-flippin-tastic. Great for travelling too as you can whip them off going through security. Follow LLs advice and size down.

And they look so smashing with all of your different ensembles. I think LL should be paying you for this! Off to order some.

You know it! I have Sperry Ducks Pops bought me as the perfect driving shoes when winter boots were too clunky, and treated myself to the newest Bean one's in pink and black. They are a thing of beauty, comfort, ease and practical style. An investment that last forever (and if they don't, you have THAT guarantee!)

I love the Bean mocs. I had wanted some ever since I saw page 98 in the Official Preppy Handbook: "Bean's rubber moccasins, even though it's sunny". I wore out an old pair that bought at a thrift store (well, I still mow the lawn in them) and finally broke down last year and paid for a new pair. I wore them to court yesterday, but with socks because, you know, court.

@anon - you can send teh boots or duck shoes back to Bean to have new soles put on. $35-40 I believe. Def worth it if you thrift a pair. Yea that pic in the PHB is good.

I like the look of the duck shoes. Tried them, but since they don't breathe, they made my feet sweat too much.

Of course, LL accepted the return without question.

Please tell me that is not an adjustable plastic tab on the back of your cap.
