jack daniel's -honey

I don't care for Jack Daniel's myself, and have never seen this honey flavored version; but the blacked out hive and beekeper are striking images. Making beekeeping badass? Well played Isaiah Seret (Arnold Boston).

Sidenote; Pops keeps bees and I realise a painted hive and dark clothing are not optimal. Incase you care to know, the smokes calms or at least limits the alarm bells of the bees and also prompts them to gorge themselves -reducing their ability to sting.

Got the Honey as a gift. Too sweet for me (and even my wife, who hates whisk(e)y in all forms). Great on chicken though.

I <3 the Jack Daniels Honey. It's GREAT with lemonade. We just bought our 2nd bottle. As for the ads, the idea of a black hive and blacked-out beekeeper are great concepts but bad in actual real-world execution.

Why, you ask? A black hive would make the inside too hot and the bees would die. Hives are painted white the same reason Florida houses are - to reflect some of the heat. A blacked-out bee suit makes you look like a bear and you're more likely to get stung. Beekeepers go with white b/c the bees don't mind it as much.

P.S. - all beekeepers are bad-ass. :)

Something like Souther Comfort (then count me out!)? Love the commercials though, badass beekeeping indeed.

@James - Did not see your side note before! No wonder I like your blog so much - great minds, great minds...Followed your link to restocking hives. Then the other restocking hives post. Then the one for fiddleheads. Stop it. Just stop it. I have to get some work done today. :D
