The Tintin movie is still stalled out really, but this is a great article from The Economist about the appeal of the character and why it is limited mainly to Europe, or as a "...minority taste, bound within narrow striations of class: his albums are bought to be tucked into boarding school trunks..."

I found a range of books called "Nicholas" written by the guy who did Asterix. All about a little French school boy and his adventures. Supposed to be really good for the 5-8 year old bracket. All line drawing sketches so no flashy illustrations but worth checking out I think. Sent the first one to Hamish for Christmas.
